God-like beings rule over the world. Mortal warriors walk the wastes to challenge them. Those who have failed, drained of life and passion, are a constant threat to those who still survive. Will you live on in this dying world, or face your fate? The decision should be obvious.

You, The Aftermath:

You are mortal, one of few. Those who stand between the Ascended and Forsaken. 

Mortals have a wide array of species and appearances, some naturally developing and surviving through the age of the Forsaken, and some claiming to be genetically engineered by the Old Empire. The only common ground between all Mortals is their essentially identical intelligence, language, and titular mortality.

Journey To Ascension:

The quest of nearly all Mortals is to revel in Ichor, the blood of the Ascended, in order to Ascend themselves, be it to take revenge on those who started this dark age, to live in one’s own paradise, or to take their place as a god, perpetuating this cycle of misery. To do this they must rise to Heaven, the realm of the Ascended, and drink a god’s fresh blood. Though this goal is lofty, and to some seems impossible, many Mortals have lost hope in their ability to live a good life in any other way. Whether you are on a quest of Ascension or just want to live your life, your world is dying, and it seems hell-bent on your involvement in it.
