Status Update: Hide, Hidden, Disappear

Yo! For a while now, I've been unsatisfied with how the Hide action and the Hidden effect works in DAWN. It's very much "TTRPG stealth", with effects that don't actually conceal your position from any other players in any way and just make you slightly harder to target, a sort of slow methodical stealth that I don't feel fits the vibe I'm trying to communicate in this game.

So that I can communicate the changes I've made, here's the current rules for the Hidden Effect and the Hide Action:

And here's the new idea for the effect and the new Hide Action:

Like I implied earlier, the main reason this change was made was because I'm not a big fan of classical stealth effects where the players and the GM have full information on where the character is in the fiction of the game. I much prefer how stealth / invisibility is represented in most video games, where the players other than the user have little way to know where they are at all.

For this reason the new Hidden Effect (now renamed to Disappear as to not confuse it with the Hide Action) functions more like Deepstrike in Warhammer or the already existing "In Shadow" effect, where the character is fully hidden from the players, with only the user knowing where they're going to end up. At the risk of patting myself on the back too much, I feel like this is a much more interesting way to communicate the intended fiction of the effect, and better fits the inspirations, with sneaky characters in Shonen often just showing up wherever they're need, usually existing in the sneaky superposition.

To wrap up, here are some features changed around this Effect change.
