Status Update: Bond Actions


Yo! Since Beta 1.0 came out, I've been taking a closer look at unstructured play and how to meaningful expand on it.

After the first two weeks of one-shots, I've found that there isn't a ton of things for players to initiate on their own. Players have ample tools to respond to the surrounding situations, and they can always speak freely and start things with the other players and NPCs, but they are not mechanically rewarded for doing so, meaning that the game is leading them to play as reactive as possible.

I'm not really a fan of this, so I was looking for some new ways for players to initiate more things, and I landed on "Bond Actions".


This is effectively an expansion of the "Bond Breaking" feature (it is now the Abandon Bond Action), now being one of many ways a character can interact with their Bond mates, adding Tags based on the Fabula Ultima Bond descriptors.

This should reward the players more for taking initiative and forming more bonds, two things I want to support.
