Status Update: Enemy Attack Changes


It looks like 1.5 is going to be a very enemy focused update.

This includes a few new enemy types and Antag Edges, and some extra flavor for enemies, but in terms of function the main change is that most enemies have had their potential damage increased, mostly through effects that let them target multiple characters with each attack.

In terms of the math behind this decision, most enemies get one extra dice on their attacks each Tier, and it's been shown that this doesn't scale fast enough to reach the power of later game players. However, any way an enemy has to multiply their damage will make that scaling more impactful as the game goes on, for that reason I've tried to give each enemy a way to double or triple the damage that can come from one of their attacks, either via targeting more than one character or by gaining a bonus when specific conditions are met.

The reason why I haven't just made it, so enemies just gain 2 dice each Tier instead is due to the physical difficulty of rolling said dice. The method I'm using doesn't actually require the rolling of more dice, and hence does not make turns take longer in physical play, something I suspect will be a big issue if I bloat the number of dice rolled in any part of play.
