1.9 Patch Notes

- A number of new Techneqeus have been added, being: Master-At-Arms, Reflector, Will-O-Wisp, Hunter, Swarm Body, Tactical Master, Creator’s Ascetic, Mind Breaker, Empath, and Spellcrafter.

- All Techneques are now sorted by their complexity stars within each Archetype.

- Half a page of lore has been added for the world of Daggers and Dusk.

- Brute has been renamed to Javalin.

- Inhuman Strength 1 now pushes characters it would move into (mostly to help with pushing 2x2 terrain).

- Duelist ace damage reduction.

- Precognizant 1 is now once per Round.

- Bestial Acendant no longer gives your the enemy’s Tension damage bonus on their attacks.

- Clash has been reworked to make the results simpler, more likely to work out for the player using it, and also deal them damage.

- Bardic Savant 1 has had it’s range more limited due to the increased base Attributes. Harsh and Raucous have also been buffed to have an effect when stacked.

- Bardic Savant 3 has been changed to require 3 or more verses so that players must invest into it more to make use of the feature.

- Fog Walker 1 now triggers disappear at the start of a Turn so that it does not need to specify the no attacking condition.

- Fog Walker 2 now gives Evasion instead of Focus to better fit it’s Avoidance archetype.

- Fog Walker 3 now triggers on Stride instead of Charge to make it a bit more easy ot use , differentiate it from Bardic Savant, and make it less of a “Must pick” for either build.

- Duels are now a universal mechanic and have been reworked to be a bit more simple.

- A little sun icon has been added to features that interact with Influence to make them more recogniseable at a glance and draw attention to the mechanic.

- The first 2-3 pages of the unstructured play chapter have been reordered to actually make sense.

- Awakening has been reworked entirely, this will also effect the few Boons that effect Awakening.

- New Rebel Boon: “Leave This To Me”.

- Reworked Light Boon: True Hreo.

- Enemy Intents have been removed to lessen the linearity of combat when they’re used.

- Abilities have been reworked so that a character can only be created with one ability that cannot have it’s Noun changed. This is to better match the genre DAWN attempts to emulate ,where characters normally have one central Ability they use.

- Character concepts have been removed as with the removal of influential actions they had no function and contributed to character sheet bloat.

- You can now increase an Attribute instead of a gaining Techneque levels when you Tier up.

- Inner World 3 now gives Advantage on Duels.

- New Antagonist Action: Bargain.

- The Loyal Boon “Familly Techneque” has been replaced with “Fish Out Of Water” since it’s old effect is now effectively the basic function of Abilities.

- The effect of Strengthened, Marked, and Weakened have been doubled.

- Interact has been reworked and has had it's intended functions split into three Actions: Shove, Interact, and Improvise.

- New Antagonist Action: Improvise.

- “Setting creation activity” has been removed due to some lacking polish and to reduce feature bloat.

- Antagonist Points have been renamed to Antagonism to better fit the pattern set by Influence.

- Delf Duelist has been renamed to Duelist.

- Equilibrium has been renamed to Moncastic Sage to fit the usual pattern for tech names.

- Braggart 3 no longer forces you to stop holding back.

- Iron Bodied 3 now has [Tier/2] scaling to match it’s level 1 effect.

- Hate has been added as a new Bond Action listed under a new category along with Abandon.

- Drunkard 1 now has a clarification that’s movement is once per turn.

- Skirmisher 1 has been reworked to be more useful for most builds and give it a more unique function.

- Sellsword’s Call 1 summons have had their damage halved to match the balancing done for servant’s call and their health reduction.

- Autophage 1 now equates 2 Health spend to 1 Focus rather than it being 1-1.

- Grim Ascendant now only gives one Swift Cast per turn.

- Street Figther has been reworked to use Shove.

- Chronomancer 3 is now empowered against 2 or fewer targets.

- A new optional rule has been added for slower tension gain in combat.

- Many of the options on the Ability table have been reworked, added to, or had their price changed.

- The “Listen” and “Explain” Bond Actions have been replaced with “Learn” and “Teach” And have been given added limitations.

- Distant Killer 3 now gives bonus damage based on distance from target.

- Long Draw 3 now has it’s range bonus limited to the edge of the board.

- 4 “Example Unstructured Characters” have been added to the character creation section.

- “Never Give Up” has been updated to function.

- The summary text for every Outlook has been rewritten, and each Outlook category has been reordered to be in alphetetical order.

- Grappler 2 has been reworked to be more active and add a point of synergy between it and other Techneqeus that Launch.

- Constrictor 1 now lets you choose not to pull enemies when you move.

- Each Antagonist Edge has had it’s last feature reworked into a codified phase change.

- Each Antagonist Edge feature has been given a subtitle to explain when it’s triggered.

- The “don’t deploy” and “must compound” enemies have now been added to a codified group “techneque enemies” with their own rules for attaching to enemies that they all share.

- New Modifyer Enemies: Vortex, Thrash, Earthquake.

- “Distant Killer” has been renamd to “Sniper”.

- Taunt now disadvantages attacks that arn’t against “a” character who taunted you instead of “the” character who taunted you.

- New Quiet Boon: Technobable.

- Battle Instructor 3 has been reworked to better utilize the Bond aspect of it.

- Guardian Angel 1 has been updated to match the new Wound system.

- Runic Retribution 2 and Feral Arcana 2 have been changed to actually function with Investigate’s rules.

- Zealot 2 now strengthens you instead of weakening you.

- Legion now creases 2(+1) Fodder Zones with it’s attack.

- Quick rolls have been reworked to be more quick.
